Annees d'Aventures

Author: Alfred Capus

Year: 1903

Description: Alfred Capus began his adult life as the sensible son of a Marseille lawyer. He studied engineering in Paris. In time, he was drawn instead to journalism and later the arts. Yet his scientific training was never far behind. His first published work was an obituary for Charles Darwin.

This novel was first published in 1885 and its theme was existential freedom. In this regard, it owes heavily to the work of Henrik Isben. It went through several printings and Hermann-Paul illustrated the 1903 edition.
